Chairman’s Speech

About 31,000 people live in an area of 15,348 hectares belonging to Neluwa local council, which is the most difficult and remote local council in Galle district. The existing road system in our jurisdiction is also quite difficult and therefore people are finding it difficult to perform their services.
With the development of information technology, which is a global trend, the distance between individuals and organizations has also decreased.Since our organization is a low-income local government organization, we do not have the financial strength to embrace modern technology, but through the website donated by Transparency International Sri Lanka, we are expected to be closer to the people and fulfill their service and information needs efficiently.
Although our area is difficult, it is located in a beautiful environment with waterfalls and streams fed by the Sinharaja Forest, and it has become a big tourist attraction through various media including social media.
Through this website, we hope to further promote the tourist spots in the area and provide the necessary facilities and guidance to the tourists.
I would like to express my gratitude to Transparency International Sri Lanka and the Local Government Department for providing this website equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to our organization, which is a low-income local government.
