The Sinharaja rainforest is an amazing destination especially for bird watching. In this rainforest that is home to about 160 bird species, there are about 18 species inherent to Sri Lanka. The village wonder is still remains intact in the villages that border the Sinharaja rainforest reserve. Tourist have the opportunity to experience and gain knowledge on the Tea industry, Kithul Treacle Industry, Paddy Cultivation and manufacture of different spices. The genuine smile of the villagers brings out the extent of warm hospitality of the people. One can also see different types of local fruits and plants, species of animals etc on these villages. As these villages have an unlimited supply of food, different types of birds, animals and reptiles van be see as well. While some plants are monecious birds that are inherent to Sinharaja reserve can also be seen.
