‘Seiri Week’ to be held from 1st to 4th September in conjunction with ‘Clean Sri Lanka’ programme

The government has taken steps to implement a special program called “Seyiri Week” from September 1st to 4th, in conjunction with the ‘Clean Sri Lanka’ national program, to remove unnecessary items accumulated in government institutions.

The Secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government has issued a special circular in this regard.It has been forwarded to Secretaries, Provincial Chief Secretaries, Heads of Departments, District Secretaries, Heads of State Corporations and Statutory Boards.

This program has been implemented with the aim of creating a clean, hygienic, non-hazardous environment for officials in government institutions to freely and properly perform their duties.

This is to be implemented in conjunction with the ‘Clean Sri Lanka’ national program, and the identification of necessary and unnecessary items and the disposal of unnecessary items are to be carried out here.

The Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government has also issued a set of guidelines on how state institutions should operate during that week. Accordingly, on the advice of the Honorable Chairman of the Neluwa Pradeshiya Sabha and under the guidance of the Secretary, a number of short-term and long-term programs have been planned to be implemented during the week from September 01 to 04 and beyond.
